Lunar Rain Art: The Process of Hand-Painting Porcelain

The meticulous technique of hand-painting underglaze involves delicate application of paint to depict animals, mythical creatures, seaweed and intricate details. Care must be taken to avoid applying the underglaze in the wrong places because mistakes sink into the absorbent porcelain and cannot be erased or wiped off. Mistakes can only be sanded off. The artist must also avoid rubbing the painted surface during the process, as the underglaze dries to a powdery finish that is easily smudged and can blur the artwork upon contact.

Each piece of hand-painted porcelain can be used to to keep your jewellery safe while also being beautiful works of art that add creativity and life to your living space.
