Lunar Rain

LUNAR RAIN ® is a fine jewellery and art brand designed by Canadian artist Melissa Chen, based in Vancouver, Canada. Melissa founded Lunar Rain in 2018.

The brand specializes in creating beautiful fine jewellery inspired by nature, infused with a touch of surrealism and elements of antiquity. Through an imaginative design process, whimsical ideas are transformed into wearable and collectible works of art, including intricate lockets, pill boxes, and perfume bottle necklaces. Each piece is meticulously crafted by master artisans, blending exceptional craftsmanship with poetic artistic expression.

Sapphires, moonstones, emeralds, and diamonds are featured throughout the collections, always surrounded in gold to honour the unique visual features of each stone. This artistic vision extends beyond jewellery to a selection of delicately hand-painted porcelain ceramics. These pieces are painted and made by the designer herself, offering a complete world of art intended to house and complement the fine jewellery collections.

In 2025, Lunar Rain became the first Canadian jewellery brand to win a Couture Design Award. Lunar Rain won first place in the “Best in Gold” category in the prestigious Couture Design Awards for the Moon Cat Locket Necklace designed by Melissa Chen. In 2023, Lunar Rain was nominated in the Emerging Accessories category at the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards (CAFA).

Earthly Delights – Fantastical jewels inspired by nature, food and other earthly pleasures.
Gothic Romance – Jewellery inspired by gothic art, fashion and literature.
Celestial Dreams – Jewellery inspired by the stars and galaxies above and heavenly deities.
All The Devils Are Here – A darker collection inspired by witchcraft, hell, monsters and memento mori jewellery.
