About Vancouver Jewellery Brand Lunar Rain by George Collins
Lunar Rain is a high-end Vancouver jewellery brand based in Vancouver, Canada. Our fine jewellery is designed by Vancouver jewellery designer and artist, Melissa Chen. Melissa founded Lunar Rain in 2018, right after graduating with her masters degree from the Royal College of Art in London, England.
Throughout her childhood, Melissa has spent many summers camping on the small islands around Vancouver Island, Canada. The sea has profoundly influenced both her imagination and artistic works through the time she has spent in its presence. The curved strands of kelp used in her designs echo the movement of ocean currents that push to and fro. Much of the sea life that she has encountered has found its way into her jewelry designs, featuring starfish, herring fish, seal jewelry, and more, all of which can be found in our Full Fathom Five Collection.

Artist Melissa Chen was born in China and immigrated to Vancouver, Canada when she was two years old. She has lived in Vancouver for the majority of her life. She has also spent four years living in Chicago studying for her BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and two years living in London, England studying for her MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art.
